A beautiful golden yellow colour will accompany you to a nose with an exceptionally powerful and woody attack that continues with notes of gingerbread, quince pastes and salted butter caramel.

Pinot Gris Grand Cru Rangen Vendanges Tardives 2001
Most certainly one of the most powerful wines in our vineyard! Behind its old gold colour, you will discover a full nose of quince, gingerbread and honey with a touch of minerality slightly flint. The attack explodes in the mouth with quince and peach predominating with honeyed notes, a hint of walnut and a strong salinity. The palate is very full with an exceptional length, this description only partially pays tribute to this wine and I lack the words to describe its exceptional “power” aspect. food & wine pairing: Difficult to find matches for wines such as this one, although it would be perfect on a foie gras, I would rather tend to orient myself towards North African dishes like a fig tagine or perhaps even paupiettes of veal with prunes, or even some Thai or Chinese dishes of the bitter-sweet type.

Pinot Gris Grand Cru Zinnkoepfle 2017
The colour is clear yellow with a very open nose of peach, plum and a touch of woody. The palate is fresh with a hint of sweetness, the acidity is frank and brings tension. We will find aromas of peach, quince and crunchy grapes. When I taste this wine (2019) I find it a little closed and think that it would still need to age for some time to provide its full potential.

Its mouth starts gently on citrus aromas, the sugar is slightly noticeable but very quickly the typical acidity of Pfingstberg takes over with its mineral aromas and a very present salinity which make this wine so special and so rare.
Pfingstberg is traditionally enjoyed after at least 10 years of ageing and this one, even with its 19 g of residual sugars, is no exception.
