Riesling is the most widely planted and elegant grape of Alsace. It covers one fifth of the vineyards. Even though it has a proven presence since the XVth Centaury in the Rhéane Valley its exact origins remain unknown. The different compositions of the terroirs are strongly reflected in the grape; each soil composition gives rise to a different complex aromatic range. The king of Alsatian wines it reveals deliciously fruity, floral and mineral aromas.

It can be dry, planted in Grand Cru AOP, Vendage Tardive type or come from one of the Sélection de Grains Nobles. Riesling develops very well when the grapes are harvested when over ripe.
